David Serebryanik in his North American debut, presenting his newly devised score for Y.L. Peretz’s classic Yiddish ballad Monish as recited by Shane Baker. Monish was preceded by a concert including Three Piano Pieces by Georg Kreisler; Gershwin’s Preludes; excerpts from Viktor Ullmann’s The Lay of Love and Death of Cornet Christoph Rilke; as well as original preludes of David’s own.
